I definitely learned the most on this rotation! I worked strictly inpatient with the hospitalists for one month (not including any of my outpatient IM electives).
Here's a run-down of what my day-to-day schedule looked like on Internal Medicine:
06:00 - 06:50: Pre-round on patients
07:00 - 07:30: Morning sign off (overnight admits assigned to dayshift attendings)
07:30 - 10:00: Round on patients. I was usually assigned my own patients on ave 2-4 and would go with residents or independently depending on the day
10:00 - 14:00: Round with attending
14:00 - 18:00: Chart and admit new patients
